Yom Kippur
Historically, Yom Kippur is a Day of Repentance, a time when humans seek divine forgiveness for sin. For Humanistic Jews, the day has a different meaning. We consider Yom Kippur as a time for self-forgiveness and forgiveness of others. Kol Nidre is sung with a modified text in keeping with our Secular Humanistic principles. We echo the Humanistic obligation to keep all promises made in a spirit of justice and caring. We invite you to join us next year for our reflective and meaningful Yom Kippur services which include readings, poetry, music, and song. Services include a memorial service and break the fast. You are also welcome to visit us during one of our many other activities. Please refer to the calendar of events and email or call us with any questions.
