Sunlight School

Spend your Sundays with the Or Adam Light Rays! Or Adam Sunlight School provides what Humanistic Jewish children need--an understanding of their own cultural history and identity outside the context of a traditional religious framework.

Light Rays in action The “Light Rays” represent students from preschool through high school age. At Sunlight School, they learn how to question, search for truth, and develop values geared toward the preservation and enhancement of human dignity. Best of all, we provide children with the opportunity to interact with other children who are part of their Jewish family, sharing in holiday celebrations, learning, and fun.

Students are grouped by age/grade into 4-5 small classes with an emphasis on individual attention. They meet separately, but from time to time, will join together for shared music and learning experiences.

Class topics include Holidays, Humanistic Values, Yiddish Literature, Israel, Jewish History and Culture, Current Events and lots more. Plus, our teen class (Club Or Adam) participates in a variety of social events and community service projects throughout the year.

All classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at noon at the Phoenix Country Day School in Paradise Valley. There are 10 Sunday sessions for 2009-2010 on the following dates:

  • August 23
