Shabbat and Havdalah Dinners
During the year, we welcome the Shabbat, or end of the week, by gathering together at members’ homes for a special Friday night dinner at sundown. Participants each bring a food dish to share. These smaller environments allow for members to get to know each better and engage in more personal discussions.
Similarly, we also gather together on select Saturday nights to celebrate Havdalah, or the end of Shabbat. It is a time to reflect upon the week that has passed and the week that is to come. We use traditional symbols, including the twisted candle, wine, and spices, but put a modern spin on them consistent with our Humanistic principles. These gatherings are organized by Or Adam for its members. Contact us if you would like to host or participate in a Shabbat or Havdalah dinner.
