Rosh Hashanah
The Jewish year begins in the fall with the celebration of Rosh Hashanah on the first day of Tishri. Humanistic Jews recognize the fall festival of Rosh Hashanah as a time of new beginnings. We view it as an opportunity for self-judgment and affirmation that human beings have the power to change, improve, and seek their own happiness. Rosh Hashanah marks a turning point, a separation between the past and the coming year. Our 2011 Rosh Hashanah service will be Wednesday, September 28th, 7:00pm at Phoenix Country Day School, 3901 E. Stanford Drive, Burch Hall, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253. There is no charge to members.
Tickets for non-members: $40 per service or $100 for all three services: Rosh Hashanah , Yom Kippur and Yom Kippur Memorial & Break-the-Fast. We also offer a special hildren's service at no charge.
If you missed our Rosh Hashanah service this year, you are welcome to join us next year or visit us during one of our many other events. Please refer to the calendar for upcoming activities and call or email us with any questions.
